I have a 2012 tao tao 700 miles .. was out riding earlier bike has always run fine but to day I parked outside the store came out push the start button and the starter is just make a spinning sound I kept doing it and it start turning a little then stop and start doing the spining thing agin was going to take the starter off and check it bike has been out sidw under a cover foe a few days .. I also tired to kick start and its not working its like stuck and hard to move its not kicking right at all .. had to walk the heavy bike miles home today smh ... I need solution to this today pose to ride the the bike 80 miles to detroit friday if it want start ima have to cum out bucks for it to be towed help please !

Dunno what to say; my kick works when start fails, and start rarely fails but it doesn't regularly do that "klank!" On trick you may want to try is is soon as it clanks, hit the starter button again quickly. You may have to tap on it a few times rapidly. Not a solution but might get you through.

It was the starter clutch ... I opened my starter thinking was somthing with that and messed it up .. cost me 50 for a starter cause I wantedto mess eith stuff o well live and learn ... starter clutch was my issue tho

ive had to replace my starter clutch and then 3 starter solenoids and i am real happy with this starter solenoid its off a GSX1000 Suzuki
