No doubt it can be hard to tell the difference between a big cat an a big dog. I saw some mountain lion tracks and was kind of following them. Until a big black lab came up to play.
The first tracks were indeed mountain lions I went back and checked, they were a bit larger and wider with no claws visible, the other tracks didn't show claws because the owner recently clipped the dogs claws. The print was very similar but if you study them their are differences.
