I now have 22,000 miles on my Aprilia (Piaggio) 250 with most of those at 50 mph and above and about 1/3 at interstate speeds of 75+ MPH per GPS. I ride daily rain or shine year round with a 20 minute hard commute (somtimes an hour when the traffic is bad) each way on stop and go State Highways and take day long trips on the interstate several times a year. I assesed the viability of riding on a second hand scooter and after a few months dealing with extreme maintenance ended up upgrading to a bike more appropriate to my usage. A good fuel injected bike will usually get better fuel economy too which helps defray the initial purchase price.
