What are some phone apps/games that you like? Here are a few of mine. There are so many out there, it's hard to sift through the good and the bad.
Knots 3D An app that's pretty cool if you don't know how to tie anything but your shoes. What's cool about it is that it demonstrates each knot in 3D, about 100 different ones, as if someone was drawing it by hand, from start to finish. You can control the speed that it ties the knot, view/rotate different angles, and zoom in/out. Pretty handy learning tool.
Translator An app that allows you to select from pretty much any language (English for most of us), and translate that into basically whatever language that you want. There are a ton of languages to choose from. It translates it in writing, and there is an sound icon that you can push to hear the audio. Do I need this app? No, but to take it to the extreme---- if I was ever in another room with another person, and neither of us knew the others language, we could probably have a conversation back and forth. Other than that, it's fun to toy around with.
Riptide GP2 A fun jet-ski racing game with pretty good graphics.
Songza and Spotify Music apps that stream music selected from many categories, moods, or activities. Similar to Pandora.
GarageBand A cool app that lets you play music instruments. Another one that's fun to toy around with. For those that are serious though, you can record from a variety of instruments, and mix them all together to make a song (whatever that is in musical terms)--- and add vocals. Really neat, IMO.

Duolingo: A good tool for learning new languages. They don't take time to explain the concepts, but I'm catching on. They set it up kind of like a video game, which makes lessons more stimulating.
Loopstack: a 4 track audio looper for musicians. Works well and is fun for dinking around and fleshing out ideas.
Caustic: A Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) with a load of features. Runs well on my single core 1ghz phone. Amazing what it can do. Quite ambitious for a phone app.
Strumming Partner: For stringed instruments. Teaches strumming patterns that you can follow along with. Quite a few of them. You can also change the tempo and make patterns of your own to practice.
These are all available for both iOS and Android, I think.
