i posted that here: itistheride.boards.net/thread/5479/new-150cc-running-leani suspect the problem may not be related to the lean condition though so starting a new thread. searching the web hasn't helped me pinpoint the problem but it has given me a couple things to check. ignition coil and pick up coil... i don't know how to test other than swapping for one that is working. any ideas? it will rev up to 7,000rpm (with more to give) on the stand but with load will barely hit 5,000 rpms (iicr). i'll dbl check that later today if that information is important. it's a 2012 150cc jonway with 145km.

replaced ignition coil - no improvement. replaced pick up coil - seemed like it was a little better but still not right. then around 5,000rpm's the engine surged. so i guess it is still running lean. i'll have to work on it again friday. at least i got it over 35mph, makes me feel a little better that it isn't anything serious. or so i hope. edit: unless someone has some better ideas i'm going to pull the carb friday and inspect the diaphram and needle. i haven't checked that yet. i do have a spare 24mm carb so i could swap and see if it improves. busy until friday so back to riding the atm50 for now.

problem solved. moved the needle up 3 notches and put my 112 main jet in. i may have over compensated and might be running rich now, idk. strange how it suddenly lost power... i don't know if i will ever master carburetors.
