My poor Piggy sits for all winter long plugged into a Battery Tender Jr. Yet he has always started right up in the spring. Did so again this past Mon. Once we finally see the end of winter, I'll take him to the mech and get him all spring-cleaned. So far (and knock on my cedar chest) I have had zero issues. This with a 2005 (bought new in 2007) Piggy with about 2800 miles on him. Of course, you're sort of comparing an apple to an apple there.... >'Kat

A 2009 Piaggio 125/150, 2009 Vespa 125/150 and 2009 Aprilia 125/150 are all going to use the same Piaggio engines, fuel systems and electronics as they are all divisions of Piaggio and powered by Piaggio engines. That being so most any recalls or service bullitens (common issues) will impact bikes using the same engines across all three brands giving them only an styling or price advantage for the most part and give you the choise of Lambretta/Innocenti philosophy bikes using a tubular frame with applied body panels or Vespa Monocosm/Unibody bikes where the frame and body are one stamped sheet metal unit.
You may also find a occasional Derbi, Gillera or Pugoet bike which also have Piaggio engines.
