Hello, I have been searching about this for a while, and havent been able to find anything, maybe someone here knows about this.
So its about the CDI, The CDI charges and then the power from the crank sensor makes it discharge, now is the power from the pick up sensor ever come in contact with the power thats charged in the CDI? I am thinking its probably like a Relay, 2 different electrical system that work together, one system turns on the magnet that makes the other electrical system engage but they are not connected together, I guess I could try to check continuity on each system just to make sure but if some is positive can you please let me know Thank you

The power is stored , the pulse is just a trigger to release the energy .

Thanks for that link, interesting read. What really caught my eye was at the end, it is possible to use a low current over the spark plug to determine the engine temperature and pressure. I may have to do a bit of research into this, I love tinkering, wonder if I can accomplish this without frying my scooter's ignition system?

Sounds interesting. I would start with what ever public information is out there on work already done. It is amazing the CDI idea has been around almost as long as auto engines. To think "the father of AC" actually worked on it is amazing.

"Significantly advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic", as Arthur C. Clarke said. This if PFM, as the Navy says... Pure Freaking Magic.
I like the fact we are using it in cars now.
