day 1 complete. i thought i was going to be stuck in a classroom before we got to ride but i was pleasantly surprised to see the instructor pulling out numerous bikes from a storage trailer when i arrived. picked a honda rebel and within an hour i felt more comfortable on this bike than my atm50. getting back on my scooter at the end of the day was the only bad experience.

aced the classroom test. multiple choice is really easy. should have time and money to add the endorsement to my license next week when i apply for the title on my new scooter.
riding that rebel yesterday has me looking at motorcycles. if i can find a reasonably priced touring bike with lots of storage i will seriously consider the purchase. time to start saving again.

How'd you do with the U-turn/figure 8 part of the riding test? >'Kat thank you, Kat... the figure 8 was definitely the hardest part of the entire class. during practice i put my foot down twice and went outside the line three maybe four times. the instructor stopped me twice and kept telling me to turn my head more and look back to where you want to go. it felt awkward trying to look behind me but once i did it was actually a little easier to make the maneuver. when it counted i made the first turn with little problem and the second turn my tires ran on top of the line. not even sure if they penalized me for that but i passed so whatever. not like i am ever going to do a figure eight on the highway, at least i don't think. lol |
