I just did my own trunk similarly to yours, with full LED lighting. I've found that with a trunk (especially a BIG one) a car tailgating a scooter can hardly see the factory rear lights. As if they actually gave a rat's butt... But having the bright LED's on the trunk, right at windshield level makes it a lot safer for the rider.
Thanks for the post. It's long, but needs to be in order to show the whole process. It should encourage other riders to try the mods themselves!

gr8 thread! <3 the before and after lit up pics. i have a hard time seeing the dashboard blinker indicator during the day. makes me want to go out and buy some new led lights. what happened to the pics in your other thread? just now found, missed it when you first posted.

Good Work! Apparently we've almost been on parallel paths (I even put in a Stebel unit up front) it's already saved me from daydreaming drivers. I made bracket extenders too, only I used them to mount the stereo speakers TO the mirrors. Original sheet metal bracket is on the far left.
