Hello I am driving a Shanghai Shenke 2008. I got it used and have been riding it off and on for about a 2yrs. I had it put up because it drained all the gas and did not start after that, I got someone to look at her and said that a float valve had gotten stuck and he unstuck it. Now it is not driving because it keeps turning off when I start to go. so it wont start now because of my constantly trying to start it. I have to get a carburetor and solenoid for it. I was using this to pay my bills and get groceries for home. dose anyone have any sites that sell parts for this type of scooter? the Cheap Chinese Scooter that you get online for cheap. I was also wondering if anyone knew if I can put some performance parts on this thing to make me go faster and what would be the outcome if I did this.

howdy and welcome to the forum. i'm not one of the people that can give you good info on the mechanical problem --but--I believe your problem is still in the carburetor in one of several ways including crud in one of the jets which would need to be cleaned out by removing the carb. and cleaning all the parts. or- the enricher may not be working and you could simple start it and if it will idle, just let it idle till it will accept throttle without dieing. on the issue of mod'ing it for more performance , mostly one gets more problems than leaving it alone. my recommendation if you want more power and speed is to get a larger scoot----. those can be found but if in California one needs to be aware of the titling problems possible.
