Those are the engines that allow for the really BIG big bore kits without machining, yes?

I don't believe so, I think you still have to machine the crankcase once you go past a certain size, but I'm not certain. The way I look at it, if you need to machine the crankcase on one of these GY6s, you are probably going too big.

I like the flame idea, but I'd airbrush it.

I agree with airbrushing the flames. But voice of dissent here, I think I sort of prefer the flames on the body only and not on the exhaust cover. Maybe it's that bit of different color. I dunno. Maybe once you get the seat done too, maybe the cover will look "right" to me.
But I just think the cover shouldn't be flames too.

I'm not in a hurry get this project done, so I've got plenty of time to mess with the design!

I think you have jumped the shark with the flames on the exhaust.

At least he can go back, since none of it actually exists yet. No careers or shows ruined yet. >'Kat

When I added the flames to the exhaust, I had this wild idea to add flamethrowers to the rear, with the tube containing the chemicals made to look like an exhaust for the left side. That and a skid plate under the fairing to make the lightening look like it's striking. Of course, these are all the "ostentatious" ideas I was talking about originally, so I've let them go live in the part of my mind where I still desire a full Storm Troopers costume!

Just don't do it in England. He was arrested for making, get this, a firearm! Many year felony imprisonment is possible. Price of that ticket, probably a few hundred pounds. Value of an anti-tailgating flamethrower, priceless!

Maybe in Las Vegas, but to quote the article; "He was held on suspicion of possessing an object converted into a firearm, and was released on unconditional police bail without charge until May 6 pending further police investigation. Possession of a firearm carries a maximum prison sentence of five to seven years at Crown Court."

Try Ghost Flames instead. (flames a shade or to darker or lighter than the body paint) Subtle, understated cool.

I love ghost flames when they are done as a part of an overall design, but not just by themselves. I like yellow bikes (obviously, see my current ride below), so I'm going to use the candy color set and build it up from black through the oranges and reds to a set of brilliant yellow flames. I hope to keep the sides as close to the design I've posted above, and put the head of the phoenix on the front fairing, with it's body in ghosted flames on the front sides of the wheel well around the forks, and the rest of the lower fairing will have the wings made of swept flames that emerge into the flames on the sides. Subtle and understated is definitely not the plan on this one! So long as there are no financial hiccups along the way, I hope to start on it in April-May, early summer at the latest. BTW- I asked a friend who works for one of the stage shows here in Vegas. He said a flamethrower can be licensed as a pyrotechnic device under the right circumstances, so who knows!
