I have a linhai 50 cc scooter that I want to put a 150cc engine into. Is this possible? I can do frame mods if needed.

Yes it is possible.
The 50cc motor has its motor mounts on the bottom of the motor and the 150cc motor mounts are on the top. You will need to fabricate the mount for that, you will need to run the brake line for it or it as well, the alignment is very critical or you will have an unstable ride, the rear wheel needs to follow the front wheel not be off to one side or not straight.
I'd suggest doing a little work on the 50cc motor and see if you can be happy with it. Putting a performance variator like a Prodigy or a Dr Pulley on it would help it a lot, tuning it with the right size of weights will help too. For about 100-150 bucks you can put a big bore kit in it and get it up to about 72cc with no loss on durability, you would most likely need to put a bigger jet in the carb at that point. They also sell ported and polished heads for them.
You would spend about the same money on pumping up the power on a 50cc as you would to buy a 150cc motor and it would be potentially easier to do.
My opinion is that if you want a 150cc scooter just buy one, unless you are good at doing fabrication, the price difference is not that big.
