I know this is as far from scooting as we can get. But George at Pageflip is such a nice fellow, I decided to do what I can to help out his fund-raising.
Pageflip's Cicada is a bluetooth page-turning device. Which is great if you want hands-free e-book reading. But the coolest thing is for musicians. I have scanned the piano parts for well over 100 songs into pdfs. Bought forScore, which displays sheet music on my iPad. Got a Pageflip Cicada and I'm off. My hands rarely leave the piano keys now. Press a pedal on the Cicada, page turns on the iPad. LOVE it!!!!! Love even more I don't have to mess with 4-10 sheets of music PER SONG! OMG, it's all there on one happy little iPad. Pedal, next page. Finish the song, pedal, next song. HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now the Pageflip folks are trying to raise funds to put the next generation pedal (called the Firefly) into production. They have a Kickstarter set up to accept pledges. Here's the link--
So any of you musicians, you might want to look into this. Otherwise please help these nice folks and spread the word about their Kickstarter. They're just over halfway there, with only twelve days left. Let's try to get their goal reached!
