howdy--no pictures. i haven't found a "host"
i wanted to take a trip to wenatchee washington to visit an aging uncle. left late wednesday and drove the cool 40 miles to troutdale and was planning only coffee, but ended up having a nice breakfast and set out up the gorge which is normally windy but wasn't bad. it was cool however and i did get chilled. stopped for fuel in the dalles and headed for the nice curves of washington 14. i didn't get the breeze up the pants problem fixed so it was a cold mountain pass from there over to toppenish where i decided to go through granger for coffee and got fuel at sunnyside. it was still cool all the way to wenatchee which was 330 miles and i got there about 5:30. checked in to a most miserable motel 6 and walked to a very nice mexican restaurant. afterward, called a friend who wanted to meet me at 5"30 a,m, so i got up in the dark and rode to meet him. afterward went and checked out and went to where my cousin was cooking at a restaurant. i was shocked to find that he wasn't working because he had a massive stroke. the waitress gave me a number to contact another cousin and that got me in contact with the aunt who is taking care of the cousin. talked to my uncle for a few hours and headed back over a different mountain pass and spent the night in yakima at a very nice best western with the best morning buffet i've seen at any motel. it was freezing in the morning so put on my frog togs bottom which kept the breeze at bay over satus pass again and rested at the dalles where the dining room was overlooking the dalles dam across the columbia. monster!. drove on back to troutdale and got fuel and had a lunch. they offer you a re-order so had another hamburger steak without having to pay extra. when getting on the freeway there is a stop before the on ramp. i was in the right lane which ended part way up the ramp. in the left lane was a half dozen harley riders. part way up the ramp, i decided to get ahead of them and merge. they didn't seem upset to be passed by a scooter but i sure was nervous about it. heavy traffic around portland and i took advantage of the scoot to get through a little faster than legal. home arrived about 660 miles from leaving. all i did to get ready for this trip was put some air in the tires and check the oil. no troubles. i love riding without worrying about reliability since i can't walk far if it breaks down.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya. hope i wasn't too boring. ken

Sounds like you were able to run with the big dogs for a while. Harley guys are usually pretty cool to scoots.

Nothing like a long scooter excursion with several tasty stops along the way! (On a more serious note, I hope your cousin makes a full recovery )
