Is that the type that kinda 'wind up' before they hit and let all the energy out at once? Yes. But it works really well and all you have to do is wait a second for it to wind up. Then as I said before it can loosen even "impossible" nuts with ease.

Is that the type that kinda 'wind up' before they hit and let all the energy out at once? Yes, it took three whallops and the variator was free. Here's the full kit with 4 sockets (smallest fits my variator nut), a spare fuse, and a battery to cigarette lighter adaptor. I purchased a 8' battery to cigarette lighter extension (see below), cut off the clamps and wired it to the battery, and ran the wires up the front body panels to just under the helmet hook. I haven't mounted it yet, just have it hanging down, trying to figure out the best weather proof mounting. Also, the impact wrench is obviously fused, but the cigarette to battery extension is not, so I'll be adding a 20amp fuse on the positive line.
