update!!! I adjusted the valves and the scooter started .BUT now it will only idle as soon as you touch the throttle it dies . I even changed the fuel pump w/ a used one I got from a friend still the same problem. if you spray starting fluid into the airbox(while idling)and hit throttle at the same time the motor will rev that is why I changed the fuel pump. any ideas? ?

You must have a vaccum leak, that is why the fluid speeds up the engine...check it out...

You must have a vaccum leak, that is why the fluid speeds up the engine...check it out... most likely not as spraying it into the air box mimics a functioning carb. If it happens like he says it is likely a fuel delivery issue. Check that your needle is actually moving with the throttle and make sure the diaphragm is correctly installed and untorn start there and we can continue once you have confirmed those 2.

Yep, maintenance is a must to keep the scooter going.. I need to check out a few things on my scooter. Mainly put new tires on it, a new fuel filter, check vacuum lines, change oil, gear oil, fill tank up with gas before winter,.. fun fun fun.. (*
