I just removed the old notice of the new V5 software upgrade that out software provider Proboards is doing. The deadline date is December of this year and while that may seem a long time away it's actually not far off. I've been working on a test forum for some time now doing this and that mainly trying to make the new site user friendly as much as I can and adding features to make the better V5 system even that much better. It's a known fact that a lot of people were/are happy with the current version V4 and most people are very comfortable using it and it's easy to learn even for a total newbie. V5 has a lot of the same features you're used to plus bonus features but navigating can be let's say different at times to accomplish the same things you do here now. That's another reason Doug and I copied this forum a time back to a test board. If you don't know or haven't looked this is the V5 test forum for this site: betaitistheride.freemessageboards.com/One can post and do anything there that you can here but please do not as far as trying to get help or just everyday talk because this test forum along with all PB test forums will disappear in December. But I would like all members to go to the test site go through the login procedure and just make a post or even ask about how to do this or what is this or that on this thread. betaitistheride.freemessageboards.com/thread/753/test-forumNow to login if you are a member here you will need to know the email address that you used to register with here on this forum. If you don't have it you will not be able to sign in. After doing the sign in one time you'll be able to login as usual from then on. I hope to see all of you there and let myself or Doug know if you need help. JR

OK folks I just had a member PM me with questions about the new V5 conversion and I thought it would be good to share. These are questions and concerns that some of you may have and I can answer each one to let you have a better understanding. Hi JR - I have tried to follow your new pro boards project , but at this time I am completely confused . When this program takes effect, does this mean that we have to pay to be a member ? The pro boards thing, I have never understood what that is all about . I joined at the time when you were just changing over and the whole thing was very confusing . Is there a way you can put out a explanation ,in very few words that can possibly simplify what you are doing. I don't know about other members ,but for my self personally ,I have no idea what happens next . I know you have sent out explanations at to this new change ,and you have done a good job in doing that, but for myself ,The pro boards and charges that are posted are away beyond my understanding . Are we still going to have a" It is The Ride" forum or something very different??
Ok first of all the forum is free and shall remain that way never will be a charge. Proboards is a forum software company/provider that provides us with the programming to build a forum. The current version that we are on which has certainly been a good one is called V4. V5 which I have mentioned is simply a software upgrade kind of like upgrades one gets when changing from one computer software to another (except W8) o)) This change is again mandatory and if we stay with PB's then we have to change to the new software and their deadline is December of this year. If we don not do it ourselves they will do it for you automatically. This will still be It is the Ride scooter forum. The test forum that was made is a exact copy of this forum up to the date of when it was copied. Every member that belonged to this forum the day it was copied is on the test forum and if you go there all you have to do is put in your "USER NAME" not your display name and password and then you can look around and even post on the thread I made to ask questions on just like posting here and again free. betaitistheride.freemessageboards.com/If you have joined after the test forum was made then you will have to register again at that forum and just follow the directions. When the V5 conversion takes place every single member, thread, post and the material here will transfer with it. There will be some things that will not like the banners and such but I'll get all that in when it converts. Basically all will be the same except more features and options. I hope this helps. JR

[replyingto=jr]JR[/replyingto]I am new to your forum and still not sure how to ask for the info I am seeking. I bought a 2008 Komoto 250cc scooter that had caught on fire and am in need of parts to restore it. I need a wiring harness and some body parts. I asked a question on Yahoo and received a referral to your site. Please tell me if this forum is one that might help me locate the parts I need. Everything I have tried has come up with nothing. I did learn that Hi-Bird might be the correct name for this scooter, rather than Komoto.
