Well, my first post on the new board.... so here it goes.

I'm rebuilding the top end of a MotoBrovo Super Hornet 150cc, and it seems that I'm working on an oddball...

So, I was almost done with it, hat it back together and I was tightening the heads to 26ft lbs and heard a nice loud, POP. I broke a head stud, in the case.

So I got out the drill, and the easy outs, and did the happy dance when I got the end of the stud out of the case.

Now comes the interesting part, I too the old stud into the local scooter shop and got a replacement and it seems to be the wrong diameter.

Did Moto Brovo use an odd ball diameter for thier head studs? Anyone else run into this?

I think I would have one made at the a machine shop before I'd start drilling and putting an insert in. All I'd have to do is have them turn down a new one, then thread it. I don't need to go thru all of that tho, as I did manage to find one at the other local scooter shop.

I hope to get this bugger back together tomorrow night... ridable at least. It still need a new varator and a belt... But that's easy stuff for next week.

All and all I'm excited about getting her back together....

I don't have a micrometer... or a veneer... both of which are on my wish list. However, I can post a video and will...

I'm just glad I managed to find the correct stud at the other scooter shop in town. We have two.
