I built a motor with a 50mm BBK, 47 mm head, A9 cam & 20mm carb.I opted to use the exhaust that came on the bike because it 's the 2 stroke type with the expansion chamber.(ill see if I can post a pic) What size jet should I start with? I put an in and it's lousy performance. I also drilled more holes in the airbox for more airflow, I adjusted the fuel-air mix for max idle. If I can't improve this, I'm putting the original 50cc back in. It performed way better than the new 83cc

if its not a 2-stroke then its robbing power and just get a pod filter and open exhaust then u should be fine if anything air/fuel mix

One might think so, but It actuallu=y does help performance. It has something to do with helping to evacuate exhaust fumes from the cylinder. It actually performed better than any 4 stroke I've ever ridden, right from the factory ;D

Have you checked the plug, or is it at a point where you can't get it to WOT? Perhaps try a 92- MJ. I have a 47mm with A9 cam, stock head. I use an MJ.
