I finally got my scooter running good after buying one of the so called stock replacement carbs that promises better than stock performance. They vary in size and jetting. These scoots generally run fine when new if a little lean, but they still run. The last thing someone wants to do is tune a new carb right out of the box. Theres no mention of maybe having to rejet these "stock" replacements. I had to try 3 different sizes and order each and had to wait in between. Newbs who might want to upgrade to a carb will expect to buy one and bolt it on and go. How can these all be "stock" replacements if they are for example 18mm with or 75 jets, 19mm with 72, etc when we know that its hit or miss if it will run right unless it is the correct size and jetting? I know for a fact that an advertised stock carb thats 19mm with an jet will not run on my T3 without mods to the air intake flow. Newbs are not going to know this. To me this is NOT STOCK and disclaimers should be added to the descriptions when advertising these carbs.

hey redroush00, do you have any idea what size jet to use when installing a performance exhaust? i'm putting this one on sometime this weekend: www.ebay.com/itm/121107542461?ssPageName=STRKi don't even know what size jet i currently have. just bought a new KEI HIN carburetor (or so i thought, think it is a clone) and the jets had no markings. it runs gr8 but i know (or think) i need to rejet when i put the exhaust on. any place you can buy jets locally or only online?

Found this on scrappydogs parts site. These come in three different sizes: standard, #75, #80, # , the popular # , and the gas guzzling # . 75 and 80 are good for exhaust upgrades, etc, but still stock air box. and are for air filter upgrades. for major stuff.

Yeah, I'm a newb to carbs in general and I had trouble getting the scoot to run with a replacement I ordered online. After three days on not getting it to run right I took it off, put it back in the box and put the stock one back on -_- Worst part is, the replacement doesn't have a number on the jets..

Where did you get it? Contact them and ask if they know? You need a jewelers magnifier to read them sometimes.

It doesnt really matter what size jet the "upgraded" carbs come with, If your going to be playing around with modding your scoot you should have a jet set with a few different sizes. All scoots are different, 2 scoots with the same mods may of may not use the same size jet to run perfectly due to inconsistency in chinese parts (ex. Some scoots come with a bigger bore from the factory than others) And also elevation, temperature and humidity play a small role in the tunning of carbs. So you can't just ask on here what size jet to go with and list your mods and get a definite answer. You can get a ballpark but if you want your scoot to run perfect you need to play around with it yourself.
