Compeller/Magnum Early Rear End Tear Down I tore down a center section of a compeller rear diff ( early magnums are the same) and took pictures of it disassembled. In the mean time here is what I got so far. ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00950.jpg) I left the bearings in the main housings. ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00952.jpg) Axel Drive Gear Assembly ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00959.jpg) Reverse/Forward Shifting Fork ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00957.jpg) Reverse/Forward Shifting Fork Disassembled ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00958.jpg) The fork removed from the rod. This shows the check ball in place. The rod has a slot cut into it where this ball ( and spring below it) rides on the shaft. ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00955.jpg) Reverse/Forward Gear Assembly ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00956.jpg) Drive Gear ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00954.jpg) Shift Rod Along with the Lever is what moves the fork from forward to reverse. ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00961.jpg) Side Case Notice the shim to the left of the case. This shim keeps the bearing in the proper position ![](http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt174/rapidjim/Rear%20Diff/DSC00960.jpg) Side Case Notice the shims to the right of the case. These shims keeps the bearings in the proper position. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair
