Right now I just wanna get it running right, stop the backfiring and bogging. Gotta save up some more for more performance parts

Any ideas on why gas is leaking into the air box?

So I'm thinking gas into the air filter is from the backfiring. Was messing around with it tonight, tightened the a/f mixture and seemed to help the big backfires, I had is a quarter of the way from fully tight then fully tight and those seemed to greatly help the big backfires, still getting a little bit of the little backfires on deacceleration, they kinda sound like gurgling/burping backfires as it winds down. Does it having to be adjusted so lean(tight) prove a test that I do indeed need the air filter that millsc posted?
Also the bogging is now really only on take off, can the accelerator pump be adjust? Or would a bigger pilot jet help that? Or adjusting the needle?

Ok so Im getting ready to order a couple jets from scrappys and had a quick question on the performance air filter they sell and the uni filter that millsc recommended, Id prefer to save on shipping and get scrappys but is the uni better? Also do these filters just attach straight to the carb? Thanks
