i finally changed the fuel line, filter and fuel valve yesterday. was hoping this would solve the gas fumes problem, it did not. the gasket on the gas cap needs replaced. i haven't figured out where to get a replacement for it yet. could that cause the fumes? the cap still seems to go on tight so i suspect all these fumes are coming from somewhere else.

It s difficult to fill up and not splash a little around the rim. Perhaps you did what I do all the time.

If the gaskets visibly bad, that's it most likely. I've had gas misting out my air filter because my needle was too high, I think.

idk, i'm still looking to replace the gas cap gasket but i think something else is causing it. after riding the fumes tend to be stronger. if it was just the cap, i would think the fumes would be less noticeable after a ride, no?

When your riding the gas is splashing around and a little bit of it is going to get out. That's what the gasket is there to prevent.
