So I have a scooter that has a 821-20-30 sized belt. Is it possible to change to a different size. Preferably 842-20-30. Is it the variator/rear pulley that makes the scoot need a longer belt or is it the length of the case that is different? I cannot for the life of me find a good belt in this size. The best thing I can find is this belt (link is below) which comes to almost 50 dollars with shipping and I have no idea if it is actually going to last me of if it is some overpriced Chinese made garbage. www.superscooterparts.com/SPD/n-mp-09310k--80002C09-1276806594.jsp

It is the distance between the pulleys and the pulley size that determines the length of the belt. Can you convert to a different belt size? Absolutely how much money do you have?? It is likely easier and less expensive to replace the scooter.
The belt you posted seems fine and if recollection serves correctly MRP is a good brand... Count your blessings that's less than half what I paid for the belt on the Burgman I recently sold...

Well if i can't just change my pulleys and get a different belt size then i guess I'll have to break down and spend the money on that belt unfortunately. Thanks

Makes a quality belt easier to source at a lesser cost in theory

I may be wrong but it seems to me that when upgrading variator on some scoots. it causes a belt change due to size of new variator. Dave

I just broke down and bought the belt from the link above. It sounds like it is a good one. It was 46.00 with shipping so it better last a damn long time. I wish I had the 842 20 30 belt size. You can get a Gates Powerlink Kevlar belt for under 30.00 with free shipping and I was always under the impression powerlink kevalr belts where the best but maybe MRP belts are better. We will find out i guess.
