After I installed my new carb with a 75 jet I put in a new NGK and ran it a mile or so then took it out. It looked pretty much the same as when it went in? Should I just ride it for a day or so then look at it?

yeah it might even take longer than that to get a good reading and then a lot of people say the color will just show what its doing at idle and for a proper reading you have to "chop the plug" get it going and at wide open throttle kill the engine and then check it you might not even be able to get a good reading untill you have 1000 miles or more on it
