So long story short, I was stuck, out of options, and I had NO choice but to use this oil. To NOT use it, meant leaving the scooter I JUST bought at the base of a bridge, where it would surely be towed or vandalized. LOL that's life I suppose!! So, all I could get my hands on was this Formula 1, 2stroke engine oil. It SEEMS to be working just fine. Will this oil work for my 03' BWS? Or should I drain it and get new oil? Thanks so much!!

Drain it, flush it and then refill with the proper oil now. If the engine wasnt run too long, you are probably okay. (I'm assuming that your scooter has a 4-stroke engine... and that is 2-stroke oil, made to be mixed with gas for 2 stroke engines)

[replyingto=scooternewby]scooternewby[/replyingto]Oh, sorry... So, you just used this for your oil/gas mixture? I cannot see where that is an issue at all then. Probably just paid a little extra for the oil then

A little extra? That stuff looks a little cheap. What do you normally use? Is it oil injected or pre-mix. If that is a pre-mix only oil and you have an injection system it could be an issue. I would drain the tank and get the good stuff in there...

"A Little Extra" ... I probably misunderstood where he got it from. I was assuming it was the only 2-stroke oil available at a "quickie mart" or something and they usually charge 2 to 3 times as much as they should. Just out of curiosity....I've used MotoMaster products in the past and have never had an issue with them. I wouldn’t hesitate to run that in my Stella (it has an injection system), in fact I probably have. What kind of issues are you thinking he might have? Not disagreeing with you...just curious. My only 2 stroke experience has been from yard equipment and my Stella.

It's made for pre mix, OR injection systems.(says so on the label). I have an injection system on my BWS. I would normally use Yamalube, but this was all that was available (Sunday, and nothing was close). It wasnt cheap, it cost more than what the Dealer charges.
I just wasnt sure if this would be a suitable alternative to Yamalube. As I mentioned, the scooter operated normally all the way home, probably a 30 minute ride. And also this morning, it's running normal. A little smoke on start-up, disappears in 2 minutes.
Should be ok?

As long as it is formulated for an injection system it will be fine. Sorry it looked like an el cheapo store brand. I usually use this

I would use it with out hesitation. It is probably better than the Vavoline Multi Purpose I have been using for years.

I have an autolube system and I run higher end oil because the bike is heavily modified and it is run hard daily. I depend on it daily so I take good care of her.
