I know this has nothing to do with your question but how do you know it was over heated

i was riding without airbox because it was running rich.
i think it was slightly lean because it ran ok for like 10 min and when i came hill climb, it started crawling and engine turned off by itself. and engine couldnt be started for like 5min. could smell something burning too.

If you're getting too much pressure in the crank case to the point you're blowing oil out of it then my guess would be a ring issue as well. Have you tried a compression test? Is the smoke coming from the tube foggy and white? If so it's probably air/fuel mixture blowing past the rings and pressurizing the bottom end.

I'd say rings too. It blows past the piston and then blows the oil up the cam chain passage. I really don't think the issue came from running lean because of no airbox tho. There are a lot of people who take the air boxes off and leave the rest stock and run for a while w/ no issues. (NOT that I am saying that how to properly mod.) But I don't think that caused issue.
