I recently got a Sony HDR AS15 action camera. I opted for this over the GoPro because it is cheaper and other factors such as image stabilization, low lighting and the shape, ect. This is how I mounted it to my scooter. I stuck the flat mount on the top of the brake master cylinder. I then bought a cheap tripod with a ball mount and removed the legs. I then drilled and taped the bottom of the ball mount to accept the camera quick mount. I will try to post some video's when I finally figure out how to use it and edit the video's. I can figure out just about anything mechanical, but electronic stuff is all greek to me.
