It is not about dirty words...it is step #1 in socialism...iishanaetea koni dega..nini aboya dobi yaynikik<- you speak the truth..you suffer the incarceration...you speak their words you get freedom..from their they slip you into communism....where ALL you speak is edited. I was also banned for speaking non English.

OK lets make this all simple and easy. I remember a time not so long ago when people complained about the forum getting out of control, constant flame wars, spam, people being rude and insulting, etc.

Do any of you recall this forum and place. Then the forum whittled down to only one person who cared to try to stop all the junk going on and it became too much and then came along the here is the better place and of course the rest is history and now we are here.

So now that we are here things have been very pleasant with an occasional skirmish or two and the forum is moving along nicely IMO. Notice the IMO thing? Now what some call the truth others don't, some may or may not agree then discussions start about it all and what may be the truth to some can make others disagree and then it becomes an opinion of the truth or whatever.

I don't know any where here that anyone is suffering incarceration for the truth but I do know that this subject alone has spurred discussions along the lines of political, religious and not acceptable language as stated by this forums rules and those of Proboards and that's not an opinion but the truth.

Examples communism, socialism and a long list of words that it seems some just got to use and again it isn't necessary. The flirting around with profanity as I call it is starting to rub me the wrong way for several reasons:

One in the forum rules I plainly in clear words described what was not acceptable to use;
Two when one of you has to answer to our software host company from one of their warnings about it you'll find it's not a pleasant warning
Three I've cleaned up or as all call it edited such words and dropped hints or messages that one should see as to not use the word/s

It was mentioned about Alleyoop being warned about bad words. I will tell you this Alleyoop is a person who can stand behind you to the end of time, will be there when others give up and he is my friend. We both share one thing in common and that's the ability to show each other when we make a mistake and accept it as a good thing either way, I can assure you he has shown me times when I was wrong and I appreciated his advice and concern as he would from me and when we are wrong we can admit it, correct it and move on a better person for it.

So let me state some things here that are the truth and here's the first one:

What ever you want to call them, dirty words, profanity, cussing, etc. it is not acceptable and this means being creative with the key board and I'll make it easy to understand;






Anything associated in any way with the F-word



I'm sure I could type on this list for some time to come and not cover every combination. Want to talk/type like this take it elsewhere. I have to believe that every single person on this forum can carry on a good conversation without this language, just can't believe it's that hard?

Last truth is this, subjects like this are hard to start with to discuss on an open forum without crossing the lines of politics, war, and sometimes ever religion. When the subject does just that and the result is members in a flame war or insulting each other then that's when it gets moved, deleted, edited and sometimes warnings/bans issued to the offenders and then life goes on.

This category stands alone because it is a all discussed and no scooter topic category and as long as it stays clean, friendly, fun and a good place for members to discuss different topics, then all is well.......but if it becomes a place that is the opposite then it can disappear as quickly as it was formed and simply put that is the truth.

JR, I had to think over the last word on your list for a few, before I realised what it referred to. So, am I naive or just extra-blonde?

On George Carlin "Seven Words", he talked about it on the Tonight Show with Johnny. Ran the list backwards--excuse me, sdrawkcab. Johnny's first reaction was "Nonononono!" 'til Carlin got going. Then he busted out laughing. Afterwards he said, "Right now our censor is up there going 'Do I edit or not? They're the forbidden words, but they're not, but they are, but they aren't.' " Really funny.
