So I ordered a new BWS 150, its my second scooter but the last one I bought from a dealer in the real world, where superior powersports simply drop shipped this one straight from taotao in carrollton TX. Took 9 business days to get to Maine (about 4 of thsoe were all processing on superiorpowersports part.) Anyway Overall good experience. They said they did a PDI on it first, and it was apparent that one was done, almost everything was greased (all of the frame bolts and anything that might rust save the exhaust.) For the PDI, all of the electrical connections were good. It came with a sealed battery which I didn't bother to charge. I removed all plastics and inspected everything and found a broken ground connection (they had too much tension on the wire and it wasn't well crimped on the connection end.) so I pried the crimp open and reinserted the wire then soldered it and wrapped it in electrical tape. I then loctite-ed the exhaust acorns per recommendations from lurking on the boards here. On my previous 150, the muffler became detached from the exhaust, all three bolts fell out and I lost my gasket. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I lost it and my scooter suddenly got loud. To avoid that happening, I added lock washers and loctite-ed them back in. The upper (and smaller) bolts on the luggage rack didn't have washers so whoever installed it stripped the end of the bolts, I got washers and new bolts and the issue was resolved. Fortunately the welded frame nuts were not stripped. I did come across a few stripped frame nuts but unfortunately not much I can do about those without getting a longer bold and another nut. Overall I am impress in the quality compared to my other scoot, looks sharp. Its a bit on the smaller side and if my legs were any longer it'd be unusable. Very nice! Looks like they copied the engine design of my EVO, great machine. You probably will be able to go 65MPH with yours on a good day. I don't like all the vacuum hoses all over the place like that...
The ATM50 was a way simpler design.
Aluminum exhaust is good (does not rust, unlike the other bikes). If there's anything,I'd say the exhaust pipe, coming from the engine tends to rust on my EVO, the paint chips away a bit. So if you can find a solution for that, would save you a rusted pipe in a year or two (not sure if there's a lot you CAN do about it, other than taping a layer of fiber wool around it.
On my EVO, the vacuum hose from the tank (top) was broken, resulting in gasoline spill when overfilling. Easy fix, however, I can't top off the tank, or the engine would stall, due to gasoline drops being injected in the cylinder.
I also had to tighten rear fender bolts a bit, and mount the horn (behind the plastic), or it would jam the handlebars.
I think in general lines this scoot is smaller (lower above the ground), though largely the same internally than my evo; except, you have a performance exhaust; which is ok, because the EVO's run neither rich nor lean.
