If the battery became hot, it could have damaged it. Just make sure it's not dry. As long as there's water in it, and it functions, I guess a one timer could do no harm. Also, funny thing is, but many dry batteries, shipped from the factory, after pouring the acid in, are almost in a charged status.
I once charged the battery with a car starter battery delivering upto 600Amps. The tiny battery became hand warm over time, and I just disconnected it, when it became warmer than hand warm, and put it in the scoot like that, and started riding. No problems ever since (a good 3 months now).

No sense worrying about it now. But I kind of doubt it is ruined. You'll just have to ride it and see how it holds up. I am guessing it is not a new battery.

Thanks prodigit! So its the acid I put in that's making the battery fully charge. That means I probably Didn't need to buy a charger. Thanks again guys! Can't wait tell I get tags to start riding this thing. ;D
