Seems to be coming from the variator area and louder the hotter the motor is is. Thought it might be the valves at first but all quite up there. Increases with rpms. Looked inside when I had cover off didnt see anything obvious. Any ideas?
Checking other topics on this subject its possible my spark plug isnt tight. I was afraid of over tightening it when I changed to the NGK and it came with a washer on it. Perhaps I didnt tighten it enough and I seem to remember it not being fully seated when i was done. I didnt think that would matter.
Why would a loose plug knock? Shouldnt performance be reduced as well?

Maybe one of your rollers went sideways? Very easy to check if plug is loose. Don't have to Hulk it on, just snug with no more pressure than your wrist can put.
