Hey guys, so as you might know.. a few days ago.. I posted on here asking for some help after I had cleaned my carb..but still wasn't able to fix it. Well, I actually came across who was selling a 150cc for 300 bucks and I gave him 100 bucks PLUS my old Zongshen 50cc. Let me tell you.. BEST thing I ever did. One thing I was curious about though was.. what are some good modifications to help out my new 150cc?
At the moment I don't know the make and model of it..but I do know its fast compared to my 50cc (no sht sherlock!) lol.
I was thinking about changing my air filter, belt to kevlar, roller weights(how many grams do you reccommend?) I'm about 6' and weigh around 230lbs.
Also another thing I noticed is.. when I shut off the engine.. the exaust lets off smoke from the outside.. as if it was burning? I believe the guy who sold it to me spray painted it along with the cvt.. could that be the cause for it?
Thanks for checking my post out!

Sounds like you got a BARGAIN!
If it's running well right now, I'd give it a short "trial-period" to see if any issues show up. As for improvements, all I can recommend are ones that have worked well on my Xingyue 150, and have seemed to be popular with others.
I found that replacing the stock air-filter system with a Uni-"sock" filter made the biggest difference of all, but the effect filters on these make can be vastly different from one scooter to another. (I did have to go to a little richer main jet) and adjust the needle to lift faster for bog-free acceleration.
Next most noticeable improvement was replacing the CDI and coil with a no-limit performance CDI and Bando orange coil (an iridium plug also helped).
Last mod I made (and it's a BIGGIE) was to replace the stock variator with a Prodigy unit. I used 12-gram rollers and am happy with them. I'm about your same size and weight, and the new variator added a few mph to my top speed, AND lowered the "cruising" rpm considerably. A BIG improvement in overall "rideability".
I think these are pretty common "upgrades" which in general, make the typical GY6 150 just a little bit faster, more enjoyable, and maybe reduce some wear on the engine.
Right now, my scoot's apart for repairs. The rear brake went bad, and I'm replacing the hydraulics from lever to wheel cylinder. My 5-year-old exhaust system is also falling apart, and I have a new performance exhaust to put on it, which I'll do while it's apart. I think my carb-jetting should still be OK but it might need a teensy-bit more richening with the new pipe. I'll make a post when I get it all back together again.
Hope this is of some help.

PS: I learned the hard way that these scoots' electrics DO NOT like to get wet! Keep the wash water well away from the CDI, coil and stator... (unless you like pushing the thing... LOL!)
