First awf, I bought this scooter with one mile on it and it has been trouble from the beginning. Anyway, I've had the most troublesome time tuning my carburetor. I removed the air box and some of the PAIR. I plugged the hoses for now (I'll seal the ports this weekend) and it runs ok until i want to give it some serious throttle. it revs to about 7k rpm(/10k on the meter) and it blows out and the carb makes a croak or a fart sound. It will stabilize at 5 or 6k again if I ease off of the throttle but will continue to peter out if i continue to give it throttle. I cant tell if it's drowning in fuel or if it is deprived. Perhaps it is emptying the bowl?
My initial thought is that it's rich at wide open. I went from 120 to 125 first to make sure that it would be richer. it rang true but the default 120 seemed to be too rich as well. 115 was a little better. After I noticed the difference between these I thought it was still flooding. I went down to 105. Seems to be the best but it feels thirsty or imbalanced. I tried 108. Not much of a difference. seemed to me like it was cutting out at about the same rpm but it feels like for opposing reasons.
Stock carburetor for a 150cc GY6 157QMJ Currently have a 105 main jet, needle is one notch leaner from center, and the pilot jet is 32. The pilot is fine where it's at though.
I'm going to put a 108 main in it and leave the needle jet at one leaner. and see how it does. I tried 110 and 108 before but these 3 seem to all be too similar in behavior for me to diagnose it properly.
I have another carb, but to make it work for me, I need to modify the throttle cable end. the one i have currently is too large and won't fit into the PWK slide. I don't want to damage the cable in case it doesnt turn out to fit correctly and I wouldn't be able to place it back on the original carb. This lil devil is my daily and i need it back at full throttle ASAP. Thanks to anyone that has any tips, suggestions, or ideas.

I lost some power with the 108 main jet so I am going to use the smallest one I have and go to 100. if it doesnt run as well or better the 105 or 108 then I need a more refined set of jets I think.

So it is almost to it's former glory in regards to power with the 100 main jet. I had to order another jet kit with more sizes and that went lower. I Finished removing the PAIR and it sounds much happier and runs very well. still a bit rich in the higher rpms as it drops power a little bit before regaining power again at about 5500 rpm. so i hope that by using a 98 or 96 i can reclaim my top end throttle.
