I just picked up an '07 Roketa 50cc with only 600 mi on it. I got it cheap as the P.O. could not get it running well: hit the gas, back off and it dies sometimes and bogs out at mid throttle. Checked the valves and intake was tight and ex. was loose. Adjusted and still same prob. I took the carb apart and it was pristine inside, it looked new. Sprayed out the jets anyways and just for the heck of it I pulled off the Air Cutoff cover under the throttle linkage just to see if there was a spec of something in there. It was also clean but something didn't look right. I tried to re-assemble it the way it came apart and also looked at the diagram on page 34 of the QMB139 service manual available on this forum (thank-you, by the way) and that showed it going together the way I took it apart.
BUT the drawing, and the way mine was assembled, is WRONG!
The rubber diaphragm goes in first, THEN the spring and then the cover, watching out for the tiny rubber o-ring that I held in place w/ a little grease. The written instructions actually state the proper way to do it but they do not match the picture! Page 38 talks about the accelerator pump service but mistakenly has the picture of the Air Cutoff system. Now it runs great! I'm not sure if the factory got it wrong but it didn't look like anyone has been in the carb. Maybe there's several thousand of these carbs assembled wrong! Worth a look if you can't get it to run right.
