Sinatra. Hard to be more macho than Sinatra unless you are an MMA cage fighter or something like that.
MacMurray is still an interesting guy. Caine Mutiny was a great movie.

On the surface, I'd say Frank Sinatra. However, Fred M. played ONE bad villain role ONCE and his family was so hurt when viewing the premier, he NEVER again played an evil character.
He cared more about what his Wife and Kids thought of his image and he passed up numerous high-paid roles so as not to offend them.
So... He gets my vote, even though I'm a big "Old Blue-Eyes" fan!
