I'm going with Rio Bravo only because Angie Dickinson was in it.

I'm going with Rio Bravo only because Angie Dickinson was in it. Yeah, but Maureen O'Hara was in Rio Grande. And since Ricky Nelson costarred in Rio Bravo, I'm going with Rio Grande. Besides that Grande is machoier than Bravo. 'Cause it's grander, you know.

But Angie rode scooters and was an honorary member of the Rat Pack. You're right about Ricky Nelson, his being in the movie all but disqualifies it as being macho.

Rio Grande, because Ben Johnson was in it. My uncle used to take us to the drive in to see those movies. My parents hated drive ins.

Considering "things John Wayne" I'd go with Rio Grande. However, the Duke's macho persona really came through in Rio Grande. I love the reply he gave Ricky Nelson when asked why he always carried his Winchester carbine "cocked". His reply was something like "Because I've found SOME are FASTER than me with a handgun"...
Yeah, THAT is MACHO.
Of course, I'm a long-time fan of gimpy Walter Brennan's character-acting, Ricky Nelson's singing, and Angie Dickenson's legs... But the Duke's whole persona in that corny flick was still macho to the core.
Leo (Yeah, I got a CAT. Ya' got a PROBLEM with that, pilgrim?) in Texas
