Lightning. I've never heard of anyone gaining superpowers or being brought back to...well, semi-life from a shark attack. (you tried to hide, kev', but I found you anyways )

I watched a documentary a few weeks back about a town in Nova Scotia that was hit by a "super bolt" of lightening. It is rare, but it has an effect similar to the emf bomb, that shuts down electronics. The super bolt will also blow out windows over a large area, and even knocked down some walls. Don't take lightening for granted.

Well I got nipped by lighting once and lived to tell about it. Standing by a casement window in the dining room giving dinner to psychiatric patients, I was looking outside sure that there would be a strike on the flag pole across the street. There was LOTS of lightning going on. Lighting struck the TV antenna for the ward next door. It traveled down the wire with some jumping off at the metal framed window. A big spark jumped across about a foot of space to hit me in the elbow and exited at my wrist. It all happened in a flash. I was surrounded completely by a rush of static that made hair on my arms, head, the fine hairs on my face and even my eye brows stand up. A blinding flash, a loud bang from the spark hitting me then hearing the thunder rolling away. One of the weirder sensations I've ever experienced only exceeded by experiencing a total eclipse. (Now THAT was weird... I can understand how people that didn't know about them until actually experiencing one how the feeling of dread and doom could wash over them... It creeped me out and I knew it was coming!) Can't wait for the next total eclipse that crosses a major portion of the USA in 2024. Too much information I suppose, but I just had to tell the story...
Any way, I guess then that my vote goes to the sharks. I mean really! how many people really get freaked out by lightning? it's just so common... Meh, they just go inside until the storm passes. A shark will shut down miles of beach and folks remain nervous even after the sharks have long gone.
I think it was said somewhere that a person has a better chance of hitting the lottery than being struck by lightning. And a better chance at hitting the lottery again after one wins it once. (It has happened before... but not to me. I'm still waiting to hit the lottery after the lightning bite) Ironically, one's chances of being struck by lightning again increase as well after being struck the first time. (makes me a wee bit nervous when outside during an electrical storm) Who knows?... it may be true for shark bites as well.

So what super power did you gain? So far, none that I have been able to detect. Perhaps if I do have some super power, then it could just be latent and won't reveal itself until some extraordinary event causes it to be exposed. Or it could be that I was not zapped sufficiently enough to warrant one or even be worthy of. On the other hand, I do now have the ability to come up with any or all of the answers... the only down side to that miraculous ability is that I can't be certain as to which questions they apply to. If I could have any super power though, it wouldn't necessarily be the stereotypical male idea of super strength, invisibility or flight ability... More like Jedi mind tricks that would work on anybody or any thing... every time. More benign and simple sounding, absolute persuasion; be it verbal or nonverbal. No need to bust down a door with super strength to grab the bad guy about to beat up a victim... just say open the door (and the door will open itself) and don't do any harm to that person (and he won't) and he'd go home after being given the suggestion to go home and rethink his life. A rather innocuous but exceedingly powerful ability I think it would be.

I would like to be like that guy that became a piano virtuoso over night after being struck.
