Sort of... The Workhorse Surefly electric quadracopter uses the engine from the BMW C600 scoot as a range extender, when the batteries run low.
I wonder what its like to do an autorotation in a four rotor chopper?
As I read on, I found that the scoot engine has also been used as a range extender in Workhorse electric trucks and the BMW I-3 e-car.
It may be the one of the most versatile engines since the air cooled Volkswagon.
