I participated in a costume contest at the sci-fi/fantasy con. Half of the velcro holding up the head had unglued, so the head kept sliding down pretty much completely blocking my vision. There was maybe four or five feet of open stage, then a two and a half foot drop off the front. I had zero idea where that edge was, I was terrified I'd take a noser off it, yet performed my presentation (although I ran into the backdrop once).
That counts as macho, doesn't it?
