Buzz Aldrin... He's a real flesh n' blood guy who did things most of us wouldn't even dream of, even if we had the skills... Buzz Lightyear is a macho character, but he's still a character... not a real guy.  I'll go with the astronaut.

On a vaguely-related note--I think it was Jay Leno who commented, when someone complained about wasting tax money sending John Glenn back into space on the shuttle--"If he wants to go into space, then LET HIM! He's earned every trip into space he wants, dammit! And God bless you, John Glenn!"
And God bless every single one of our astronauts. I wish I could've gone, but besides being too young I most definitely do NOT have even the tiniest smidgeon of The Right Stuff.
