hello everyone. I'm trying to get my sons scooter running again after a few years. I bought a new carb for it the with the old carb the gas would just pour out so i bought a new one but a put the old 115 jet in it. I also have a free flow exhaust and drilled holes on the air box lid. now with the new carb if I give it gas it stumbles at 3500 to 4000 RPM I tried to remove the air filer no change but if I disconnect the air box completely it runs great. What can it be? I posted a really bad video of the problem but you can hear whats going on.
thanks for your help.

That's an easy one. Either reduce main jet size, or install a better flowing air filter. Don't run it without some sort of filter, if you want it to last.

I forgot I did do one more thing I also port matched the carb to the intake and head. I think the original jet was a 112. If I'm not mistaken it was doing the same thing with the original jet.
I will try to reinstall the original jet tonight when I get home. Any other idea?

If it runs ok at all throttle settings without any kind if breather attached, but gives up at half throttle and above with the breather attached......it is running too rich, meaning the main jet is too big, or there is not enough air entering the carb for one reason or another. If it acts the same with the 112 you mentioned, go to a 110, or 108.
Most 150 scooters come with a 105 main jet as OEM.

I agree that you are probably running too rich. Check your plug to verify it.
