Helping for a friend thT is having issues I did not let me explain Few yrs ago I purchased my ruckus clone from power ride outlet. Took mco and all paper work and got my bike register w/plates the same day . I tricked my pony out and few friends wanted to get something similar (and no I feel bad) My friend Niki found what she wanted at family go carts. Essentially same thing as mine but it's a Tao 150 cruiser. She got the mco and paper work and was told they were unable to register it cause the model name can not be found. Here is the listing www.familygokarts.com/shop/150cc-scooters-905/tao-cruiser-150-scooter/tt-cruiser150-redThe dmv is pretty much saying this unit is not on their list and unable to register it. I'm kinda at a loss at the back n forth between her and the seller and the dmv but curious if anyone has some suggestions

Go to a different DMV? Here sometimes I'll get a thick skulled person behind the counter that is unwilling to listen or be creative. Other times i've had someone bend over backwards and even save me money be suggesting I do something a different way.
*when i registered my motorcycle the model did not come up. They just asked if what did was close enough and we went with it.

They have to do the transaction like a motorcycle. If they try any other way it will not go through.
What DMV?

I thought you were in Queens. Were they entering it as a moped?

If all else fails, register it in Vermont by mail. The New York DMV will arise from the stone age eventually.

Vermont will issue a tag without Mco/mso in many cases, from what I have read. Google Vermont registration scooter and you should get some hits with good links.

The first time I got a scooter it was an online purchase And the MVD tried to look up my vin as a car. Apparently it comes up a jeep Cherokee or something like that!? It was a big hassle even after I got them to look in the correct category. As I only had only a certificate of origin and I needed a bill of sale. And then after I emailed the seller for the BOS I was sent a blank one in the mail So I filled it out
