I like the prow of the 109 better, so voting that way. Since I don't know what either boat is and am too sleepy to Google them.

As Flyangler said: "...because it's REAL"...
Yeah, the 109 is the real deal. I'm not a big fan of JFK's presidency, but he was a genuine American patriot, and true WWII hero. Now THAT is macho to the limit! And, in a way we need to see more of today...

Ok, fly' sent me the wiki about 109. But seriously, the whole PT class sounds anything BUT macho! Wimpy torpedoes, no guns, no defense (except the 109 did happen to be rigged with a pair of depth charges, ooo), pretty slow, not macho.
Now the sailors agreeing to serve on one, now THAT is very VERY macho!!!!!!

You are mostly correct, Kat. The best weapons of the PT boat were speed and maneuverability according to Wikipedia. They were so light for their size, that the ride was very uncomfortable and many suffered structural failures of the hull at higher speeds. The early PT boats had a terrible reputation because their torpedos were poorly made. When the torpedo designs improved, the PT boats became much more effective and were called devil boats by the Japanese. I would not challenge the Bismark with a PT boat, though.
