Who is more macho? Knight Samurai

Both were pretty tough characters, but for pure macho, I'll go with the Samurai... A knight was a trained fighting machine, but I do think the Samurai was a trained KILLING machine, so consumed with fanatical dedication to his traditional way of life, and warfare that he scores higher on the "macho" meter... Just my thoughts.

A samurai is stealthy. Nobody can be stealthy in steel armor.

'bender, I'm not sure the samurai were stealthy. The ninja were stealthy and sneaky and all that. I think the samurai were straight forward make sure they knew who you were types. Honor was everything, which stealthy isn't. But I'm no expert on samurai, just well-read on my James Clavell plus a PBS special or two.

I don't know. I remember an episode of "Kolchak" where he had an encounter with the Black Knight...Hmm,

Galloping around the countryside in search of the Holy Grail is not macho. Asking a lot of stupid questions to a wizard is not macho. Having a squire to help you onto your horse and bring replacement weapons to you during combat is not macho. Living in Camelot is not macho. Gathering shrubbery to win safe passage through the forest is not macho.

Yes 'bender, but taking on the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog is macho. Defeating the Bridgekeeper of the Bridge of Death is macho. Knowing so nmad much about swallows is macho.
And more seriously, wearing armor that's so heavy that you know if you're knocked off that horse that you're unlikely to stand up on your own had to be pretty macho, too.

Kat. As I recall, the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog was defeated by the holy hand grenade, at the hands of the clergy, rather than a blow from a knight. None of the knights could count all the way to five (before throwing), so the monk had to deliver the coup de grasse. -The bridge keeper was defeated because King Arthur was lucky enough to possess Excalibur, the most powerful weapon in all of Britain. Finally, I can't believe you played the "swallow knowledge" card. Being a "Bird Watcher" no es macho!

Oh 'bender, you need to go back and rewatch that fine fine film.
The Killer Rabbit ("It's a KILLer!") was indeed killed by the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, but it was Arthur who threw it. Although he did count 1-2-5, which one of the knights (Gawain?) corrected him, "Three, Sire."
And Excalibur had nothing to do with the defeat of the Bridgekeeper. His third question to Arthur was "What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?" and Arthur inquired back "What? An African or European swallow?" To which the Bridgekeeper had no answer and of course was yanked off the bridge into the chasm. So in this case, yes, swallow knowledge is macho.

The Knights Templar rode two men on each horse. Men riding double no es macho.

The Knights Templar rode two men on each horse. Men riding double no es macho. For real? Oh dear sweet mercy those poor horses! Ok, that does it. I vote most macho are the Knights Templar horses!

Riding double was a symbol of the Templar vow of poverty. Collectively, they were wealthier than many monarchs. That wealth was never found after their seizure by the French crown in 1307. Losing your wealth to a French king is not macho.

.. Losing your wealth to a French king is not macho. Now THAT we both can thoroughly agree on, 100% and whole-heartedly!
