I have no idea. It would be great to get together. You could tell me if this engine is built with Taiwan parts, or what, and perhaps what the transmission is made of. It did come with a Bando belt, so I was happy to see that. But the rest of the internals... I have no idea. Now looking into the cost to fly a GY6, and family to Ca. We could start a go fund me page...lol

Just to add a personal note here: I have a 28mm Mikuni (vm28-418) carb. Had it professionally installed with Ghee's uni set up (Thanks again George), and the shop mechanic, using the largest jet for this carb, needed to drill it out to accommodate the amount of air the engine was getting. I'm not as fast as Ghee, but I'm close. I think if I fly him out here, and he did some work with the variator weights it could be close.

Some attach at the oil drain plug, the one with the filter screen, and then return to your oil fill spout. Others are more involved, where you have to tap into the block, engine comes out tho.

Unfortunately, this is the very reason I don't visit as much. Threads get off track really fast; making it hard to follow information. Or a couple of gear heads get into it over synthetic or dino, where the original thread had information I needed. So, wading through the BS and the Pis**ng contests gets old.

Well it sounds like your ready for the bbk. If you were close I would let you take my scoot for the day, so you could feel the performance. However, since that is not possible all I can convey is what I have. I've never ridden a bbk 163cc to give you a comparison. As far as the variator, and what not is concerned its all interchangeable, so no worries there. Just one thing I wish I knew is that the 11 pole stator takes some electrical work. I ended up taking the easy route and just swapping it out with my stock one. Your 24mm carb will fit fine. All I had to do was adjust the needle, and put in a 120 jet. Off subject, but I plan on trying a 30mm carb when the weather gets bad. Another member has given me a lot of encouragement, and is willing to walk me through it. I think if I do that I'll get close to scrappy's claim of 18hp. I'll post my results when I give it a go.

I think for the price, unless you plan on driving it a lot, I would go with the 163cc option. I went with scrappy's only for the oil cooled part, as I'm hoping to get 15,000+ miles on this engine. So far, I have 2,000 and it's broke in, running strong, and I have no reason to think I can't get that type of miles out of it. But, then again if price is not that big of an issue, the scrappy engine is very plug and play. But note, I also have his performance exhaust, up jetted to 120 and a uni, so that helps my performance too.

I would think so. I know the variator, and weights are different then my stock 150. For example, going down a grade I could hit 8200 rpm with the 150 going 65 mph. With Scrappy's I've never been over 6500 rpm. Going down a steep grade I can hit 70+ and the engine is purring; doesn't sound or feel like its being over worked.

He does say it's a "161QMK" engine, so technically that says what cc it is. The add doesn't say 200cc. But yea, I had the same issue as you regarding the misleading title. I will say the engine runs great. Strong from start to top speed. And the cooler definitely works to keep the bike cool. I went from 50-55 with the old motor, stock. To being able to hit 65 even on small uphill grades. The engine pulls very well up hills.

Yup, just bored from a 125cc.. But, more directly it's indeed 150cc. It's actually something like 150.6 or something like that.

I don't know why Scrappy calls it a 200cc. The only difference that I can tell is that 150cc is really a 125cc thats been bored to a 150cc, which makes it a true 150cc. However, Scrappy's 200cc (170cc) is a 150cc engine that's been upgraded to a170cc. The good news is that Scrappy's engine can be made into a 232cc. But if you look at the prices to do it; It'll hurt the pocket a little. Hope that helps. In short stock 150cc, is a 125cc platform Scrappy's 200cc (170cc) is a 150cc platform

I don't. I haven't dug to much. I did replace the belt, but the one that was on there was good quality, not Chinese. I think it was a bando. The only other difference that is visible is the starter is a little bigger. And it comes with an 11 pole stator, which I took off. So far, the engine runs strong. It pulls all the way to 65 ish, and is purring at 6500 rpm's.

I actually got it for 25% off, and free shipping. It had a minor cosmetic blemish.

Scrappy's 200cc is a 170cc. I have one. He's also now selling upgrades to make it a 232cc. Boring needed, but when this one goes It's an option.

For me, scoot stayed below 6,000 rpm, and never kept it at one rpm more than a minute or so.
