Hey everyone! Kreider here. I just got back from my honeymoon (married on the 25th!) and I was communting to work, and found that my front brake seemed to be quite a bit looser than I remembered it.
I wanted to tighten it, so I googled and searched on the forums how to do it, but I ended up comign up with nothing, just a bunch of rear brake stuff.
I was wondering if anyone here had a guide that I could read, or some instructions, on how to tighten the front brake.

If it's the disk pads and they are loose trying bleeding out the system normally pads run snug against the rotor. Or the pads are really bad and should be looked at right away either way.

Easiest way to bleed the front brakes is from the bottom up. You get one of those plastic syringes with a tube that will fit the bleeder nipple. Take the top off the master cylinder, fill the syringe with brake fluid and attach to the bleeder nipple, then squeeze it in till a friend watching the master cylinder stops seeing bubbles. Be sure to have plenty of rags around the master cylinder to catch splashes and overflow, brake fluid destroys paint almost instantly!

Don't you just love this ask a question and when you answer no reply. Either the question was answered or they found out how to tighten the loose brake lever or flopping caliper mount they may have been asking about somewhere else. I they were asking about brake bleeding safest way is with a vacuum bleeder especially if the brakes are linked or have some sort of ABS/one way flow valve. |
