Here is a list of the mods i want to do on my 2014 TaoTao ATM50 that i bought last March, 1200+ Miles since then. . . 1. Big Bore kit 2. Replace fuel injector and fuel lines 3. Replace throttle cable 4. Get a better air intake system 5. Mount some speakers ( ) 6. Replace the sorry excuse for a headlight ( i drive in the country, if i use low beam, i cant see more than 10 feet in front of me, if i use high beam, i cant see in the fields, thus the time i almost kissed a deer...) 7. Mount some motorcycle styled foot rests on the front L and R (cuz im 6' 3") 8. FIND MY FRONT BRAKE LINE! (It came off bcuz i pulled to hard, and i took the front apart and i cant find the dang thing, i have traced from the brake itself as far as i can, then i lose it ) the reason i am starting this is, are these good mods to put money into? and can anyone tell me where to get these parts for a good price, and any help would be nice, as i am a noob to modding. i already have a hillbilly exhaust mod, removed the silver cap on the back of the muffler, and drilled 3 1/2 inch holes around the stock one already there, put silver cap back on and the sound echos nicely in there for some growl, and i went from a top speed of about 35-40 MPH to about 50-56 MPH. so i assume that once i get some more air in there i should get at least 5 MPH. i had read about other people trying to get more speed, and losing speed and mpg, i was just doing it for the sound, and got the speed as a bonus. if any of you experienced modders out there have any tips or ideas, or better ways to do stuff i am open to any of that stuff.

I was thinking of cutting a hole in the plastic and welding or bolting them to the frame.

Here is a list of the mods i want to do on my 2014 TaoTao ATM50 that i bought last March, 1200+ Miles since then. . . 1. Big Bore kit There is no replacement for displacement! Grab a 50mm BBK, you can still use your stock head, and the difference will be night and day!2. Replace fuel injector and fuel lines Unless you bought a TaoTao that had an EFI kit added to it, you don't have a fuel injector, you have a carb, read up on it and how to adjust it properly (you will need to upjet it when you add your BBK)3. Replace throttle cable No reason for this unless you have problems with your current throttle cable. No such thing as a performance throttle cable4. Get a better air intake system When you add your BBK, put a uni type air filter on it. Don't do it till you do the BBK, a uni often requires up-jetting, so you may as well do that one time and save the $5 for an extra jet5. Mount some speakers ( ) I found rear view mirror mounted speakers on Ebay last year for $12 + $6 handling, and they work great. They focus the sound to your head, and if you wear a helmet, you hear it great. Without a helmet, wind across the ears makes it so-so.6. Replace the sorry excuse for a headlight ( i drive in the country, if i use low beam, i cant see more than 10 feet in front of me, if i use high beam, i cant see in the fields, thus the time i almost kissed a deer...) In order to put better lights on a TaoTao, you will need to either switch the rest of the lights to LED, or do a stator upgrade. Otherwise your better headlights could prevent your battery from charging.7. Mount some motorcycle styled foot rests on the front L and R (cuz im 6' 3") I love sitting on the back part of the seat with my feet on the passenger foot pegs and my legs wrapped around the body. Feels more like riding a regular motorcycle, the added control of the body between your legs is something I miss when riding with a passenger!8. FIND MY FRONT BRAKE LINE! (It came off bcuz i pulled to hard, and i took the front apart and i cant find the dang thing, i have traced from the brake itself as far as i can, then i lose it ) There should be a small box under your instrument panel on the right side of your handlebars (most common mounting place). That is your front brake fluid reservoir, and where the brake line should lead to. You really should fix that, rear brakes do not give much stopping power on a two wheeled vehicle!the reason i am starting this is, are these good mods to put money into? and can anyone tell me where to get these parts for a good price, and any help would be nice, as i am a noob to modding. i already have a hillbilly exhaust mod, removed the silver cap on the back of the muffler, and drilled 3 1/2 inch holes around the stock one already there, put silver cap back on and the sound echos nicely in there for some growl, and i went from a top speed of about 35-40 MPH to about 50-56 MPH. so i assume that once i get some more air in there i should get at least 5 MPH. i had read about other people trying to get more speed, and losing speed and mpg, i was just doing it for the sound, and got the speed as a bonus. if any of you experienced modders out there have any tips or ideas, or better ways to do stuff i am open to any of that stuff. There are several dealers that have banners at the top of the page, all those dealers have been vetted by members and/or staff here, and can be trusted. You can find cheaper on Ebay, but that's a crapshoot with many members here getting sub-par items from Ebay. If it's a hard to find part, scrappydogscooters has most non-body parts that are hard to find.

If you upgrade your headlight, use an HID like this: LINK $19.00 to the door and they are plug and play... Wire coloring will even mate up. The biggest bonus, you will not have do any "mods" other than swap the actual bulb into your existing head lamp reflector. I have installed this very kit in two scooters now and you just can not imagine how bright they are. Your original bulb is likely a 25/25 watt and this kit is only 35/35 watts. A 10 watt difference.... However, like Jerry suggest, swap out your blinker (1156) and stop light bulbs (1157) with LED's and you will recapture that lost 10 watts.

I cant see past my nose at night either! Thanks.
