Close call... LOL!
Gotta go with Mickey though. He was pretty macho (especially for his size!) but still lovable. Don's character was macho but usually just plain nasty. If you want to see REAL macho, just watch Rooney in his green top-hat, as a rescue helicopter pilot in "The Bridges at Toko Ri". I think that is my favorite Mickey Rooney movie... Tough little booger for sure!
It was Rodney Dangerfield who "got no respect"... Once said he called the suicide hotline, and they put him on hold... LOL! I can identify with that these days!

See? I can't even keep Don straight from Rod.
Besides, Mickey was also in Black Stallion, which has one of the best scores for a movie. And lawdy-knows what-all else. He just was sort of everywhere wasn't he.

Gosh, I haven't seen Kelly's Heroes in so long. I'd forgotten pretty much everyone (except Mickey Rooney) was in that one. And what a good good movie it is.
Me, I love when they ask the German if he knows what he's guarding, and try to convince him to help. Cut right to the Tiger blowing apart the doors. Perfect!
