I rode over to ScrappyDogScooters today and picked up a Koso performance variator and 6g slider weights. Got home and installed it, then went for a test ride. Wow, what a difference. Keeps me in the power band all the time, and I really mean all the time! Take off is great, acceleration is smooth at all speeds, accelerating out of turns is sharp, and top end is up by 2-3mph. I've gotta say I'm impressed, and I highly recommend this upgrade! I'm so happy, I'm not sure I even need to mess with the clutch or contra springs, seems like stock is a good setup with this variator and weights.  Note- I didn't installing the sliders with the logo showing, I just threw them in with the "Koso" logo showing for the picture. I'm pretty sure I installed them with the "Koso" logo facing the inner diameter, and the blank side up. |

I believe that logo is supposed to face up! Hope we get a second opinion here, otherwise mine have been in wrong all along...  |

Don't go by where the logo is, it could be printed on any side of the weight. Here is how Sliders are to be installed: Alleyoop  |

But looking at his pic doesnt it look like that logo stamp is on the long straight part thats supposed to be up?

Yes in the picture of his Variator they are in WRONG but I think he just did that to show that he got KOSO Sliders.
They would not work to well in that position and he would find out pretty quick.

Yes, I just put them in that way to show the logo while taking the picture. I then got on YouTube and watched several different videos to be sure I installed them correctly, with logo not visible.  |

If Alleys pic is correct then in fact the part with the red arrow should be flat against the inner wall if the logo is printed where the green arrow is.  |

Jerry, Just a friendly reminder. If you haven't already done it,get rid of the chinese rubber, and invest in a good set of tires. Also, do whatever it takes to have top-notch brakes . You want to control that extra speed and power.  |

The diagram is hard to go by because they used a relatively square slider as an example. I've put mine in three different ways.
Long side up/angle down and out = low rpm's, very poor performance
Long side down/angle up and out = high rpm, good performance but no top speed
Long side to the center/angle up and out = this is the correct way. standing up straight. lower lows and higher highs.
Unfortunately my sliders have now suffered abnormal wear and one or two of them keep "sliding down in the chair". Once they are cocked backwards the variator is kind of stuck in high gear and I have great difficulty pulling away from a stop. Also it's way off balance.
New sliders are in the mail...

The one circled is the correct way to place it in the slot . Any other way is wrong.  |
